Lake Borealis had always interested Bloodmoon. He never knew how water could be so incredibly dark, like a hole leading into the depths of hell. On nice days a light color contrasted with the dark mirrored the sky, usually a shade of brown. The image of a tree loomed on the surface as well, as if it was a graceful swan drifting across the water. On sunny days when the wind was still the lake was smooth like a stone, no ripples disturbed the surface. It was like silver glass. Bloodmoon found his eyes drifting from the frog in front of him to take a glance at the lake. Today the picture perfect lakeside view wasn't happening, instead it was blotchy and grey.
A sharp chilly rain flew like blades along with the wind, piercing any open skin when someone left the safety of any kind of shelter. The skies overhead were a pale grey color, symbolizing a coming rainstorm, and perhaps colder weather, with more wind. The clouds were as grey as a stormy sea, or grey mashed potatoes, as it loomed over like an angry curtain. No sign of sun with the ability to breach the resisting converage. One would think any amount of clouds would be gone within a short time judging how quickly the wind was traveling. It had been raining all week, and though his hopes of a lack of rain on this very day had been crushed, Bloodmoon managed to look optimistically upon the situation. As optimistically as he could, anyways, there wasn't much good to cold, or grey, or anything about the weather. But truthfully, he was a bit occupied at the moment.
Not so much occupied as he was distracted. He found his mind straying away from the chill. Many a dead animals were located right in front of him, some in a way that suggested it hadn't been on purpose as much as it had been uncaring. Bloodmoon looked at the pile of dead animals, and with a happy expression on his face he decided to start eating. That's when it happened. His paws stepped on the muddy ground and before he knew it, he was inside the cold waters of the lake.
He got out of the water at last. Other than slightly embarrassed, he felt fine. Unfortunately the little tumble he took managed to get his entire body wet, making it seem like he had just jumped into the lake. Although frustrated, and a little embarassed by the klutzy move, Bloodmoon had never been one to cry over spilled milk. He simply pushed himself up to a standing position. From there the werewolf proceeded to scan the area with sharp yellow eyes, seeing if he could recover any of the 'lost souls' who were quite a lot when it came to him. A lot of wolves knew him, after all, being the alpha male. If he hadn't been so suddenly annoyed with the weather, and himself for choosing to come outside, he may not have just shrugged the situation off. But Blayce decided it was more work than it was worth. On to the next precaution. He glanced around one more time, looking for werewolves this time. It was just better if no one saw him fall. But then, who was crazy enough to go outside in the pouring rain?

Moving through the gloomy lands she knew another pack claimed to be living in the surroundings lands and had heard from others that this pack wasn't as nice as the other two were. Starnight was doing her best to stay out of sight of any of the members let alone the alphas. Luckily the sky was getting darker by the minute so it helped with her black fur. Still though it made her feel like she was being watched. A sharp wind blew against her fur as well as a male's scent and a Lake.
Curiousity getting the best of her she started to move in the direction of the water and soon spotted a large male walking along the water's edge. Brown eyes peering out of the surrounding bushes she was sure to stay quiet. After watching him for a bit she saw him slip into the water and couldnt help giving a small chuckle not knowing if he heard her or not. Starnight watched the male climb back out the water and stand up to his full height. Her ears going slightly back she moved down to all fours stepping back and a twig snapped under her paw.
Cursing to herself she stood still not moving one inch as she continued to watch the male as he scanned around. She hoped he had not heard her or she would be in some trouble. But it wasnt like she had never been in trouble before. Fighting was her specialty and she owed thanks to her family for that.

Fifteen minutes previous to the situation, Bloodmoon had been trapped with the pack, wondering if it was actually possible to die of boredom. Due to the absense of events occuring at that very moment, he had chosen to deepen his ponderings into a train of thought, and came up with an answer: yes. A dryspell of tasks for the mind could cause one to bash their head upon a stone, tree, or any other flat surface, as if it was better than simply waiting around for what was hopefully coming. The unfortunate would continue until a large amount of brain cells had suffered an unneccessary death. With a good portion of deceased brain cells, and the living cells probably attending funerals, one was doomed to suffer from, well, being an idiot. Images of moronic wolves had filled bloodmoon's mind. Wolves who stumbled, tripped, and crashed into others, some accidentally running into trees. So yes, he had concluded, it was definately possible to die from boredom.
See where that had gotten him?
Oh, the rain was a terrible thing. In some instances, such as a hot and humid summer afternoon where the clouds stood like soldiers awaiting an order to resemble the air's stillness, rain was wonderful. In his current situation, however, Bloodmoon would have to have chosen the hot and humid summer day, where he wouldn't have had nearly as much trouble with those blasted muddy surfaces. Though a few days previous to the event it had been a hot and humid summer afternoon, and the wolf would have easily preferred the current weather: cold and blustery with hardly any signs of dry ground because of the rain that pounded it into a carpet of slippery grass. It was then that Bloodmoon realized just how cold he really was, and how idiotic he had been to brave the weather. If only he could turn back time.
So much for finding something worthwhile to do. Even his den was better than this. Bloodmoon took one last glance up at the sky, seeing the clouds in even more storming grey fury, hearing the rain hit the ground heavier that it was before, feeling more and more raindrops hit him on the shoulders. It was enough to make him want to scamper and hide under a tree. However, a pleasant, warm den full of his pack playing games sounded nice. Bloodmoon would even prefer a dull, dusty den over the great outdoors at this moment. The wolf couldn't help but let out a few profanic words under his breath, though he could've shouted them. For all he knew no one was outside right now.
A clap of thunder roared overhead, sounding similar to what the wolf imagined a tiger sounded like. Bloodmoon's sharp yellow eyes squinted as they traveled up to the sky. Great, now it was thundering, and soon the lightning would flash across the sky. Another forbidden word slipped from his vocals, annoyance the only word to describe the quiet tone. Really, the wolf liked thunderstorms. There was some odd attraction to the natural noise and light show that kept them awake at nights. Perhaps it was the thrill he got from knowing the danger of the storms, and the fact that he was seemingly unaffected by such things? However, liking storms was very much different from liking rain, or wetness, two things that he disliked with a passion. Uncontrolled water in general was kept off his list of 'My Most Favorite Things'. With uncontrolled water came the possibility of drowning, and even the thought of that made his heart race.
Then, out of nowhere, he heard a twig snap. Turning around viciously, he showed his teeth and growled. There was someone's else scent in the air. "As the Alpha of this area's pack, I command you to show yourself" he growled, his body already taking his fighting stance. The He-Lush-Ka would never let any trespassers enter their lands unharmed. That had been the most important rule of the pack for many years, and Bloodmoon, as the alpha, was going to honour it.

"As the Alpha of this area's pack, I command you to show yourself" she heard the male growl. Flattening her ears she thought "Dang" The last thing she wanted to do was get into a fight with a male. let alone an Alpha, she had fought one before and lost. She thought about not showing herself and just leaving as quietly as she could but the me would probably only catch up to her anyway.
Sighing Starnight stood up to her full height and cautiously walked out the bushes her hand gently pushing against a small tree. Her soft brown eyes watching the male for a moment she then averted her eyes to the water. "Sorry I didn't mean to disturb you" she said flattening her ears. "And trespass in your lands." she finished quietly her body tensed if he was going to attack her.
